I'm glad you're a critic with enough sense to realize that not every movie is made to astound audiences with amazing plots and actors quoting Shakespeare. Some are made just for mindless fun, and Mortal Kombat happens to be one of them. Personally, I've seen it over 100 times and I think it's the best movie ever! Shang Tsung (C. Tagawa) is a wonderful villan, one of those you almost don't want to see defeated. All in all, it's a great assortment of effects and fun, and I'm glad you agree that it works the best this way.
